quiet july, my bad
not gonna dress it up, july was slow. two posts across four weeks and most of that time there was just nothing dropping. week 7, empty release window, no backlog to lean on. week 8, same story, an actual gap in what was coming out between mid july and the end of the month. second quiet stretch we've had this year, we know.
nobody's fault, some weeks the records just don't line up with the calendar. but I did make Eason explain the two weeks he went quiet in there, and it wasn't even blog stuff, it was his own track. stuck in a loop for two weeks. turned out the whole time the bassline was written for the wrong key change, and instead of catching that he just kept turning the bassline louder, two days straight, like volume was gonna fix a wrong note. this is the exact thing he roasts other producers for doing on here. he said it before I could. "I know. I literally make fun of people for that."
once he actually found the problem, fixing it took eleven minutes. eleven. against two weeks of turning a knob.
there's more already lined up for august than july ever gave us. next one won't be a housekeeping post.
